Privacy Policy
Radiofonic does not collect, store, or process any personal or identifiable information about you.
However, the app gathers some data (again, not identified to your person), otherwise known as analytics, to monitor the software and service quality and understand its user preferences and choices. Furthermore, it sends some data to certain third-party services to help display relevant content.
In detail:
Analytics:
All data are collected and stored in Radiofonic-owned servers (located in the EU) and are accessible only to the people working for Radiofonic. This is to clarify that third-party analytics services are not used where data are stored somewhere out of the control of the people working for the app.
The data gathered are limited to:
- Screens: which screens you have been to. This helps to identify which app content is relevant or not, which sections are popular, etc.
- Actions: A limited set of actions is recorded to understand how you interact with the app. For example, which radio stations you select to play (most popular stations), if there are any playback errors (when connecting, streaming, etc.), favorite stations and countries (to know what you are mostly interested in), and adding user radio stations methods (we record only the action, not the station data you add).
- Search: Your search queries are sent to help us understand trends and preferences.
Further, we may collect some general but not exact data about your device (if it is an iPhone or iPad but not the exact device model), the OS version, and your IP address masked to the first half segments (for example, we see only the IP address in the form of 154.235.x.x or 2001:9f32:400::).
Again, all data are anonymous and there is a switch to opt-out from sending any data in Settings -> Opt out from sending analytics.
Third-party data:
None of the above is shared with anyone outside Radiofonic. What we do share is limited to:
- A daily count to Radio Browser servers of your radio selections (when you start listening to a stream) for the purpose of calculating the listening trends you see in the app.
- A request to either the iTunes or Last.FM APIs to retrieve information about the currently playing song.
Third-party shared data are also sent anonymously and cannot be used to personally identify you.
Radiofonic aims to provide clear and transparent communication regarding its data usage policy and any future changes.
